Bean2Bean Coffee Co. has built a following in Philadelphia by serving great coffee and creating a welcoming place for its community. Led by Obel Hernandez and his team, the shop became a place customers returned to not only for the coffee, but for the people and experience behind it.
As the business grew, Obel and the team began looking for a better way to serve customers beyond the counter. Although online ordering was available, it made up less than 1% of total sales. Also they didn’t have a loyalty program encouraging customers to return.
Looking for a more convenient way for customers to order and earn rewards, Bean2Bean launched its own branded mobile app with StarterByte. Online orders grew from under $700 to around $5,000 per month going from less than 1% to approximately 7% of total sales.
What once brought in only one or two online orders a day became a reliable sales channel, giving customers an easier way to order ahead, earn rewards, and return more often.

C3 Coffee Bar increased direct online orders by 5.5x after launching their branded mobile app, capturing more orders during peak hours and turning regular customers into repeat mobile users.
